We are Sam and Kim Wilkins, and we are retired full time RVers in search of 70-degree weather. Our home is now a 42-foot fifth wheel.
We sold our home and most of our belongings in order to see what this great United States has to offer by way of beautiful scenery. Along the way we have met some of the nicest people.
There have been quite a few events happening in the sky here in Florida. We’ve been able to see a couple of the Space X launches. The stars have aligned, and we used phone apps to name each one, pretty cool. There was a blood moon, I didn’t set my alarm to get up in the middle of the night to see it but I have seen lots of pictures. We’ve watched the International Space Station go across and we are so very happy to see the two stranded astronauts make it home safe. At any given evening you could see old people standing outside looking up, the things you see in Florida.
The local library offered an art class, and I wanted to try it so I went thinking there would be a picture outlined on the canvas. When I stared at an empty canvas it felt a little overwhelming. I was shown some pictures/examples of sunsets and given a few pointers on color blending. After about 40 minutes two other ladies arrived, and the instructors got them started so I was left to my own devices and was able to finish. It was fun for a first try.
Three of my grandkids had birthdays while in FL, my youngest of which turned one year old, so we FaceTimed, thankful for technology! Also FTed my baby who turned 40! Makes me feel old!
Folks are starting home our friends, Joan and Ron were there first, along with their dog, Koop.
We had a St. Patrick’s Day potluck. Any reason to eat around here. The food was good, and the fellowship was wonderful as always.
My cousin, Denae, has twin girls, Juniors at Gilmer County WV High School and brought home the single A West Virginia state championship this week. Ava & Blair are 16 years old, and both stand at 6 foot 4 inches tall. Ava was named First Team All LKC. Congratulations Titans! This West Virginian is so very proud of you!
My sister Dawn got a good report after an MRI, the chemo is working for her, the tumor hasn’t grown since the surgery last April praying those good reports keep coming.
My grandson has started chemo since the surgery and has a total of 10 sessions, please remember him in your prayers.
Blessings till next time.
Kim
