My name is Tristan Sinnett, and I am running for Broadway Town Council. I have lived in Broadway since 2016 and love this community! I am actively involved with the Broadway Lions Club and enjoy supporting Broadway businesses and serving my community through events.
I have been employed with an equipment upfitting company for 15 years where I currently supervise the hydraulic shop. I have learned a lot about this industry, teamwork, time management, communication, and reliability. I have an understanding of public infrastructure and am anxious to learn more. I also have a good understanding of sound budget practices. I certainly don’t believe I have all the answers and know there will be a lot to learn, but you can be confident that I will dedicate every moment of my term to serving the best interests of our community with my own perspective, research, and initiative. If elected, I would focus on:
Improving underground utility infrastructure – The town operates a recently updated water plant and a regional wastewater facility, and it would be a priority of mine to ensure the underground pipes and support systems are maintained and updated. I would work with town staff to identify areas where water and sewer infrastructure needs to be updated and then develop a plan to budget for both staff time and costs. I envision this as a multi-year plan where the town can focus on upgrading the most critical areas first.
Supporting law enforcement – I have a tremendous respect for law enforcement. Aside from enforcing the law and maintaining public safety, our officers are an integral part of building community connections and stability. I would support budgeting for this department to receive the best training and equipment needed to execute their job responsibilities, while also being present at community events, school functions, and patrolling neighborhoods.
Maintaining outdoor recreational amenities – I support maintaining Broadway’s outdoor recreational amenities that the community has grown to enjoy. I would work with the pool staff and town leadership to make informed financial decisions regarding pool operations and maintenance of the pool infrastructure. I also have first-hand experience with the occasional challenges of parking at the Community Park, and I will put in the work to find creative solutions that support games and tournaments with safety and accessibility as top priorities.
I look forward to working with community members to build Broadway’s bright future, together.
