Thank you.
I will stop in soon, though I am not sure about weekend plans. I have
not yet mastered being in two places at once. •,.,–)
I am glad you are happy, given all you have put into the exhibit.
I was ‘thinking about the exhibit while traveling this week, and how tiroes have changed.
In 1965, we signed up to do the pageant as a fun thing to do among friends, not as a competition.
It was not lost on me that the pageant was to benefit the community, and in 1971, when I was invited to a meeting of the Jr. Woman’s Club of Fairfax County, I went. I soon became a member and went on to serve in most positions, including as president. Junior Clubs were for women under age 35.
We took on amazing projects and accomplished great things within our community and state. “Juniors” also taught our children about the benefit of voluntary service.
We were united in remaining neutral on topics such as politics, religion, education, etc. That would be difficult in today’s polarized environment.
Hope to see you soon.
