Timberville resident, Anita Cline runs a business that’s as creative as it is personal. Anita’s Custom Florals is a one-woman show that specializes in floral arrangements for any occasion, offering services from spring to autumn. Anita brings her passion for flowers, inherited from her family, to life through her business. “I’ve always had a knack for being creative,” Anita explains. “Growing flowers is something I’ve done since I was a little girl. My grandmother, aunt, and mother were my inspiration.”
Anita provides custom floral arrangements for a wide variety of events, including weddings, memorials, and storefront decorations. Recently, she worked on a project for Creekside Boutique’s new location, decorating the storefront for fall. Her creative process begins with a brainstorming session, ensuring that every customer’s vision comes to life. “Amy [from Creekside] contacted me, and we brainstormed the design together,” she said. Anita’s approach is collaborative, working closely with her clients to deliver exactly what they envision, whether it’s for a business or personal occasion.
While Anita is the sole operator of her business, she occasionally receives help from friends. She also makes deliveries and manages a unique pop-up camper that she and her husband, Jason, renovated. This mobile floral shop allows her to sell her arrangements at farmers’ markets, events, and even bridal and baby showers. One of the highlights of her pop-up shop is her “Bouquet Bar,” where customers can create their own custom bouquets from a selection of fresh flowers.
In addition to creating arrangements for everyday occasions, Anita is known for her memorial work. She takes pride in designing custom pieces for funerals, viewing this as a meaningful way to honor someone’s life. “That is the last thing that I can do for someone,” she says. “To make the families happy and have their loved one represented in a certain way.”
