We are sad to lose John Coffman as a columnist. At 86, he is retiring, due to health reasons. He also said he is running out of stories – which I find hard to believe!!
Quite an accomplished Renaissance man – John’s interests cover so many different genres! Born in Hupp, VA, he has written several books on the history of that area. Graduating from BHS, later retired from the Army, he then pursued many interests. John has written about many of them in his years with the Chronicle. Ranging from travel, hunting, photography, entomology and collecting insects, rockhound, creating amazing woodturned pieces- this just names a few of his hobbies.
