We are a world that has become used to one-stop shopping, from the ease of being in your home with online Amazon, or going to in-person big box stores like Walmart.
Let’s not forget small town businesses, and the personal contacts you make shopping there. Where everyone knows your name, you find the products that are unique and not mass produced. Small town America, with local people you know, owning their own business and eking out a living doing what they love.

Stand at the head of Main Street in Broadway, VA. From one end to the other are small businesses. You can find everything you need there. If it’s not there, it’s a short walk around the block, or a quick drive toward Timberville.
There are more than a few hair salons and dog groomers a stone’s throw apart. Several restaurants, including Mexican, Italian, and all American, can be found in and around Broadway.

Delving into the overflowing rooms of the Cat’s Meow’s historic building will ensure you find that treasure you have been searching for! Next door is the well-appointed clothing shop, The Creekside Boutique, an insurance company, and beyond that, a tattoo parlor. Walk down the block and across the street, and enter another well-loved shop, in the historic former Whitmore building- J&B Country Store. You can get lunch from the Country Café, while you peruse the many booths of antiques, collectibles, and even find old timey candies, local honey, and locally made products. You can spend the day here!
Next door to J&B is the library, and down the block find the Avon Store, and New Era Salon. Broadway is home to a world-renowned vintage car repair shop. You can also buy a camper, or get work done on your vehicle in town.
Midway down Main you’ll find a strip of brick and mortars- including Gobbler Restaurant, Way Above Hair Salon, and Messy Brush Art and Pottery Studio.
Further down Main, Legacy Grow Supply LLC and Blue Ribbon Nursery will supply all of your indoor and outdoor gardening needs.
Broadway even has a long-time resident radio station- how main towns can say that? There are also 2 banks in town- with all that shopping you are doing, you’ll need to find that debit card machine! A short drive up a side street, you can find Agri of VA, a health clinic, 2 dentist offices, and Broadway veterinary clinic.
There may be a few businesses not mentioned, but all the more reason for you to come to Broadway, and see what the town has to offer, and support small business owners!
