“Anything that makes your house a home” – Karla Kokkonen
That is the mantra of The Home Store, a family-owned and operated furniture store in Downtown New Market.
Originally named “Ralph’s Home Store,” The Home Store as we know it today was founded back in 1978 by Ralph Kokkonen. Ralph loved the New Market community, and that love is visible to this day through his son Mark and his wife Karla, who I had the pleasure to interview. The Home Store is well-known in this community for supporting and sponsoring local events and schools such as Crossroads Fest and Mountain View High School Respectively.
Made In America furniture and the quality that comes with that are pillars of what makes The Home Store dependable and trustworthy. As members of the community they serve, Mark and Karla take extra care to only provide the products they would want in their own home and want their customers to be still saying “I love my furniture” years later when they meet again at ballgames or other events.
The Home Store will be closed for a much-needed vacation for the first two weeks of August. Don’t worry, however, their doors will open again in mid-August and there will be savings to follow!
