We are Sam and Kim Wilkins and we are retired full time RVers in search of 70 degree weather. Our home is now a 42-foot fifth wheel.
We sold our home and most of our belongings in order to see what this great United States has to offer by way of beautiful scenery. Along the way we have met some of the nicest people.
Summer has arrived with a vengeance and it is starting to remind me of Florida. I am thankful the pool here at Lost River Campground is a nice cool 73 degrees at the moment. An afternoon dip has become a welcoming ritual for me and others here.
We are so proud of our grandson, Matthew, for graduating this year. There was a graduation party that was held here at the campground and many family and friends gathered to celebrate the occasion. What a beautiful day it was to enjoy some great food, fellowship and games. Congratulations Matthew!
Another snowbird couple came to visit us, Stan & Jane from PA, and we had such a great visit. We met them a few years ago while in FL. Their dog Misty Dawn got excited when she saw us. They were amazed at all the beautiful scenery here in WV. They’d camped at Black Water Falls State Park before coming here so they were able to take in the beauty of the mountains. They are the third couple to come visit us, I think we make WV sound very inviting.
The month of June brought another birthday for Sam (66), Father’s day and our 47th Wedding Anniversary. How blessed we are in this full time RV Lifestyle to be able to celebrate in such bucolic surroundings.
It is haymaking time and the fields are so lovely filled with big round bales glimmering in the sun. We feel so blessed to be in the middle of such a beautiful part of this country and enjoy the peace and quiet.
My sister, Dawn, has started both radiation and chemo to fight against the cancer they have now identified as a Glioblastoma. Her positive attitude and her faith amazes me every time I speak with her. She is blessed with a husband, daughter and church family as her support. All prayers are appreciated.
We hope and pray you are staying cool and are blessed with good health.
Blessings until next time.
Kim
