We are Sam and Kim Wilkins and we are retired full time RVers in search of 70 degree weather. Our home is now a 42-foot fifth wheel.
We sold our home and most of our belongings in order to see what this great United States has to offer by way of beautiful scenery. Along the way we have met some of the nicest people.
We’ve made it to the sunshine state of Florida. The trip down was pretty uneventful as far as travel goes. We were blessed to stay at the Fort Mill KOA and volunteer at the Charlotte NC Operation Christmas Child Processing Center for three days. We love meeting new people and seeing friends we’ve made along the way. Those boxes are heading to Columbia, Honduras, Peru, Chili and Equador.
I also had the pleasure of going to the Baltimore Processing Center last month with a group from Broadway Baptist Church to volunteer for 6 hours, it was a one day trip. We worked alongside 5 young people, all originally from Equador, who lived in TX and attended a Bible College. Three of these young people received OCC Shoeboxes as children and we got to hear stories of their salvation through a simple gift. They had a fundraiser and bought plane tickets and paid for a hotel to volunteer for a week and send more Gospel Opportunities to other children around the world and give them the same opportunity. What a blessing it was to hear a “full circle” store first hand and meet these young passionate people. Those boxes were heading to South Africa.
Our family get together before we left was decently attended. Some were not able to attend and we missed them. There was lots of good food and fellowship. As we were leaving the very next day it was a great opportunity to give everyone a hug and a kiss (and maybe a present) before we left. We miss all of our family and have given an open extended invitation to come visit us any time.
My sister, Dawn, had an MRI and told me her chemo treatments have kept what little bit of tumor left in her brain from growing. Please join me in prayer that her treatments continue to keep any growth at bay.
My grandson, Matthew, just completed his third round of chemo. One more before they perform surgery to remove the sarcoma then more treatments ahead. Thank you for all prayers lifted up for this young man as he stands strong during this time, keep them coming.
Blessings to all my family and friends!
Kim
