SPEAKER ATTRACTS LARGE CROWN TO THE MUSEUM
On Sun., Jan. 23 Pat Turner Ritchie, local historian and author, presented a visual presentation of the history of Western Plains District to an audience of approximately ninety interested residents. Focusing on the development of the Brocks Gap communities, she illustrated through pictures the origin of community names, significant landmarks, and people who over the years have created the history of the area.
The current exhibit at the Museum is based on these same themes with emphasis on the social and economic development of the area through stores, schools, churches, mills, medicine, and entertainment.
The exhibit which is free to the public will be on display at the Museum
through June 2022.
