We are Sam and Kim Wilkins and we are retired full time RVers in search of 70 degree weather. Our home is now a 42-foot fifth wheel.
We sold our home and most of our belongings in order to see what this great United States has to offer by way of beautiful scenery. Along the way we have met some of the nicest people.
We’ve been here in Florida a month now reconnecting with friends that we’ve made during our past stays here at this campground. There are a few whose circumstances changed their plans and were not able to be here this year, but we hope to see them again next year.
We enjoy riding our bikes around the campground and to local stores and shops, it gets us exercise and it’s easier than having to hop in the truck. After one such ride, I received an online message asking if I happened to be staying in Starke. This message was from a former coworker whom I have not seen in years. She and her husband just happened to be here as well. We were able to visit and catch up, filling each other in on our lives as retirees. Connections with old friends is one of the best things about the full time RVing life.
Technology can be a great tool, it allows me to call or Facetime my grandchildren on a whim, we use it as often as everyone’s schedules allow. There is nothing like seeing smiles on faces to brighten up our days.
January weather in FL can be a little chilly, and I know my friends and loved ones back home don’t want to hear about it, I’ve only been able to get into the pool twice! Here’s to hoping for more warm weather for us all.
We are back into the swing of things here. We enjoy weekly activities and get- togethers with friends and meeting new friends. It is so fun to find out where they are from and the adventures they’ve experienced. Sometimes we receive ideas and sometimes we share ideas of places to visit or how to correct issues with our campers (our homes).
Every day we are reminded just how blessed we are to be retired and have the ability to explore our surroundings, wherever we are. We hope and pray you are afforded these blessings one day. Make every day count.
