The Lions
One of the big 5 of Kenya. He is a very majestic animal when seen walking through the tall grass on the savannah looking for a meal. We saw a lot of lions and of course I had to take photos of all of them. I have enough photos to wall paper my room.
I don’t remember too much about the lions except one of them lying in the high grass. You could see he was highly agitated probably because we were on his turf. I could visualize him, being he was only approx. 50 yds. away, sprinting towards us and jumping up in the open hatch and landing inside with us. I didn’t care how soon we left that critter. I don’t think our guides had any guns on board.
They remind me of an old house cat until they get hungry. These are not your typical zoo animals.
Another occasion comes to me, we watched a pride of lions stalk a wounded wildebeest one evening and bring it down. They must have all jumped in as the next morning when we went back to look everything was gone except a grease spot. Even the bones were gone. Only a marabou stork was there soaking up the smells. I got great pictures before the sun went down the evening before. I don’t have enough room here for more photos.
