A search for that perfect antique or collectible would not be complete without a stop at The Great Strasburg Emporium! It is best to plan a day to explore. Christopher is an expert picker, having been to the Emporium many times. For Pat, it was the first time, and a whole morning was really needed!
There are employees to help you find your way, if you get lost, and to help you locate exactly what you are looking for. It’s amazing how they know where everything is, but they do! The scores that day were from there, and one of two thrift stores directly across the parking lot from the Emporium.
The Shenandoah Valley Flea Market on Rte. 11 in New Market was another stop. If you can’t find what you are looking for here, keep looking – it’s there! Some of the vendors from Broadway’s J&B’s Country Store also have booths there. If you are a collector of vintage kitchenware, furniture, or mid century modern, you will find it here or at J&B. For Pat’s grandson, finding Marvel and DC collectibles and Legos made his day.
If you missed The Barn at Creekside Farm’s Pop-Up Sale last month, you missed a good one. They will be open again in September. The lines were long, but moved quickly, with nary a cross word from anyone waiting. Only the upper floor of the barn was open this time, but it was artfully set up in various vignettes, with customers filling their arms with treasures. The Barn also has a booth at Shenandoah Valley Flea; in case you don’t get a chance to get to The Barn itself!.
The Barn, The Strasburg Emporium, Shenandoah Valley Flea Market, and Ben Franklin J&B’s Country Store, can all be found on Facebook.
