January 5. 1912 – The scheduled Literary Society meeting was canceled because they couldn’t keep the room warm. It was 0 degrees at 8:00 o’clock.
January 5, 1903 – There were 52 scholars attending school at Timberville. Primary 21 – Intermediate 6 – High School – 25.
Monday, June 9, 1924 – The movie showing at the Columbia Theatre in Timberville the Columbia Theatre in Timberville was “The Village Blacksmith.”
October 15, 1942 – The flood of ’42 caused the water to flow over the Timberville bridge. The Carl Wine house washed away.
Saturday, October 29, 1932 – A Halloween party was held at the schoolhouse tonight.
October 6, 1902 – School commences on this day with 14 scholars in high school.
Thursday, October 15, 1931 – A meeting was held at the Brethren Church tonight. A discussion was held, “Should girls take the imitative in courtship?”
October 1937 00 The old, covered bridge was still being torn down which is now owned by the State. They sent the lumber to the city of Harrisonburg to be used as needed.
