In March, fourth grade teacher, Donna Mathias’ monthly Pet Club welcomed Heidi Green, a former vet tech, and mom of FRES 5, Luke. Heidi adopted Hazel, a Newfoundland, when Hazel was 6 years old. She spoke to the kids about the care of a dog, especially one Hazel’s size. Hazel, who will be 9 in August, spent her time loving all the kids in attendance.
In addition, Donna made a visit to the Chimney Rock Juliette Girl Scout troop to speak about her Almost Heaven Animal Rescue. One of her fosters, Bella, was the animal ambassador for the visit.
