Timberville Feed and Implement Company opened around November 15, 1934. Frank Hagerman, Stanley Hoover, and Boyd Garber were the owners.
June 26, 1950 – The D.S. Wampler store and house were sold. Russell (Pudge) Coffelt bought the house and Allen Coffman bought the store.
December 14, 1938 – The new Timberville bridge opened to traffic
February 9, 1942 – The Rockingham Milling Company opened.
August 4, 1947 – The Nu-Method Dry Cleaners opened
May, 1941 – A new business enterprise, The Rockingham Feather Company, will begin operating this month. It is located behind Kipps store.
November 25, 1925 – The Duval Baldi Entertainers gave the first program of the Lyceum course in the school auditorium tonight at 8 o’clock.
November 8, 1907 – The Literary Society met. The debate was “There should be an educational qualification for voting.” The judges decided in favor of the negative side.
July 1950 – Over one thousand people attended the fourth annual horse show held at Memorial Park.
July 26, 1928 – A new fire alarm was installed on the roof of the post office building.
April 1942 – A meteor traveling from West to East occurred on the morning of the 23rd at about 2 am. It made a crash of thunder when passing (now known as a sonic boom)
August 1942 – A record amount of rainfall for August at this station. The weather station at this time was located at the Old Folks Home building. Very severe lightning burning a church here on the 14th and a barn on the 17th. Total loss of buildings being about $10,000 dollars (Had to be Rader’s church)
