Happy June!
I hope all is well at your house this month!
We’ve finished planting the garden – I think! We have tomatoes, basil, cucumbers, peppers, squash, swiss chard, cabbage, and corn. And then, there are those potatoes we forget to dig up each year—we have quite a crop by now!
The herb garden is flourishing as well. My rosemary bush has tripled in size in the past three years. The oregano and thyme have merged into one big patch—perhaps they’re creating a brand new plant (thym-ag-ano? orrga-thyme?) The lavender is ready to bloom as well. It seems to love its south-facing spot. I’ll try to enjoy the plants this month—about mid-way through July I’ve had enough weeding and watering and I’m ready to give it all to the rabbits.
As I’m writing this, there are eight days of school left! SOLs are over and both teachers and students are ready to coast along for a few days. The Cullers and McCartneys leave for our family vacation a few days after school’s out. I’m always ready for ocean breezes and sandy toes! Our oldest daughter, Kelly (From the Potting Shed) and her family won’t join us at the beach this year—they’re headed to New Zealand to visit our son-in-law, Chris’s parents and brother. I’m hoping for lots of pictures and perhaps a seashell or two.
We hope you enjoy this month’s Chronicle. Thanks for reading our stories!
Until next time, stay safe, happy, and healthy!
Tammy
