Welcome to September! Although you certainly can’t tell it by the current temperatures, this is the month of fall! Every year I oscillate back and forth between loving fall best and loving spring best. Right now, I’m leaning toward fall!
School is in full swing. I’m busy with lesson plans, meetings, and state testing, but I had to put all evening work aside while I put together this month’s Chronicle! We have SO many stories. Layout was a challenge. I think (fingers crossed!) I have successfully put all the pieces in their correct places – or nearly so!
I found a quote today that I think will be my mantra for this school year: “Reset. Restart. Re-focus. As many times as you need.” I think it’s terribly important to realize that we won’t always get things right the first time (I rarely do!). We all make mistakes, and we need to give ourselves the same grace we offer others. It’s perfectly okay to reset, restart, and refocus. Over and over.
You might notice that some puzzle solvers have a x2 beside their name this month. That’s because I got their entries too late to include in the August issue, so they have actually done two puzzles. Also, my dear puzzle checker, Patty Minor, told me that I have one word in twice in this month’s word search. It’s too late for me to change it, so let me apologize in advance for the double word. ☺
Hope you enjoy the many, many stories in this month’s issue.
Take care, and I’ll talk to you next month.
