Today is March 27, but already the April showers are falling. I’m a rainy-day sort of person. Given the choice between a sunny beach and a water-soaked London street, I’ll pick the rain every time! There’s something soothing and mysterious about grey clouds and fog; anything can happen!
March was a busy month (as usual). We enjoyed hanging out with family, game-boarding friends, and book club pals. Many thought-provoking conversations took place in our living room this month!
I was happy to see my crocuses popping their pretty purple heads above ground level the first of the month. Randy and I were also super excited that JJ’s Ice cream shop opened (our traditional Sunday afternoon treat!). Another March event was helping serve food at the Plains District Memorial Museum afternoon tea on March 15 (who doesn’t love a fresh scone with homemade clotted cream!)
I’ve been doing a lot of bird watching this month. Our daughter, Kelly, got us a bird feeder with a camera attached for Christmas last year. The birds are finally making friends with the “alien object that dispenses food!” It’s fun to see them snap the seeds—up close and personal. I guess I’m now officially both a cat lady and a bird lady.
The CRC plans to have a table at Heritage Day on April 18 (see Pat Turner Ritchie’s article for more information about Heritage Day). Please stop by and say hello! It’s always wonderful to visit with our readers. Thank you for the positive feedback we continue to receive. Our sole purpose for sharing the Chronicle is to provide interesting, stress-free reading for the folks in our local communities.
I hope you have a wonderful month. Don’t forget to get outside and enjoy the new life popping up everywhere!
Until next month, be safe, spontaneous, and curious!
Tammy
