Let’s go to the park—THE HISTORIC AMERICAN LEGION PARK in Timberville, VA. Shop or stroll down rows of vintage antiques 40 years or older. Enjoy free admission and free parking. Food vendors will be on hand with plenty of good food and drinks. Plains District Museum in consultation with the town of Timberville is planning this new fundraising event for Fri. April 28 (9 am- 6 pm) and Sat. April 28 (9 am- 6 pm) at the Historic American Legion Park. WERE YOU A BOY SCOUT IN THE 1950’S-60’S??
The new country store exhibit features the Scout collections of Landon and Polly Wean who served as Scoutmaster and Den Mother for Boy Scout Troop 1 and as Den Mother for Den 1 Cub Scouts in Timberville from 1959 – 1967. The collections, filled with pictures and memorabilia of dinners, scout trips and award ceremonies from that era, are on loan from Mike Wean of New Market. Mike is the son of Landon and Polly and was a member of both the Cub Scouts and Troop 1. The exhibit will be on display through September.
