The evenings are getting longer, and the days are becoming cooler and shorter. Fall has officially arrived! Each spring I am totally convinced that April and May are my favorite months, but in the fall, I realize that I truly love October and November most.
Well, after three years of successfully dodging the Corona virus, it finally hit me last week. I have spent the past three days sniffling and coughing, and I suspect I will have a few more days of the same. I am grateful that, as COVID goes, I have a relatively mild case. I’ve consumed two quarts of orange juice in two days and put a giant dent into a half gallon of ice cream. I can’t really taste much, but anything cold feels wonderful to my throat. I was planning to get my booster in October, but I guess I’ll wait a few months.
The kittens have been my constant companions since I’ve been home from work and church. They are making sure that I have plenty of warm, furry company at all times. I’ve enjoyed extra reading time and it’s nice to have more time to put together the October edition of the Chronicle.
We went to see “A Haunting in Venice” at the theatre last week. I’m quite an Agatha Christie fan, but I don’t know how Dame Agatha would have felt about this modern rendition of her book. It was a good story, but there was barely anything in the entire script that even resembled the original book.
As usual, we have a packed issue this month. Even with adding four extra pages I still struggled to fit everything in. I appreciate the writers who faithfully volunteer their time and storytelling expertise each month. I also love the fact that many of you have let me know that you save each issue of the CRC. Thanks to all who stopped by our table at Broadway’s Autumn Festival.
