Meet the New Directors!
The music department at Broadway High School hosted a meet and greet earlier this month to welcome a new Band Director and new Choral Director to our community. Music department families and alumni who missed this opportunity are encouraged to reach out to the new directors to say hello! Plans are being made, calendars are being set and it’s going to be a great year for music in the Broadway community!
Mrs. Kimberly Mumbauer will be joining the Broadway community this fall as the Choir Director, Guitar Instructor, and Piano Instructor at Broadway High School. Mrs. Mumbauer has taught middle school music for the past fourteen years, including most recently at Wilbur S. Pence Middle School in Dayton, VA.
She received her Bachelor’s in Vocal Music Education from James Madison University and her Master’s in Choral Conducting from Messiah University. She is excited to begin this new adventure and hopes to provide students with opportunities to grow as musicians and young adults. Mrs. Mumbauer resides in Broadway with her husband, Tim, and many plant children.
Danny Holland is excited to be joining the Broadway community as the Director of Bands at Broadway High School. Before joining Broadway, he served for eight years as Director of Bands at Skyline High School in Front Royal. Daniel has taught and conducted a wide range of courses and ensembles, including concert band, marching band, jazz band, indoor percussion, percussion class, musical theater pit orchestra, and Dual-Enrollment Music Artistry. Daniel is an active oboist and has performed with the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra and the Front Royal American Legion Band. He presented at the 2022 VMEA Conference about oboe pedagogy in the classroom. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from James Madison University and a Master of Music in Music Performance from Bowling Green State University. Outside the classroom, Daniel enjoys spending time with his two cats, Tucson and Sherlock, and visiting theme parks as an avid roller coaster enthusiast.
