August 24, 1909 – The Farmers and Merchants Bank of Timbervile finished its first year of operation with a 17 per cent profit.
August 1929 – This was the largest peach crop ever for the Timbervelle area.
August 1908 – A 130-acre parcel of land north of Timberville was sold at public auction. The price was $57.50 per acre.
August 1942 – The last building was built at the Zigler cannery. The Lewis Gorley brick yard made the bricks in 1870. They were first used to build the Polotecnic Institute in New Market and when that was dismantled the bricks were hauled to Timberville and used in the cannery construction.
May, 1947 – The old Thompson Mill across the creek from Gordon’s Garage, was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin. It was about 80 years old. It was built right after the Civil War, about 1867.
Monday, May 12, 1924 – Several days of rain caused the river to be as high or higher than it had been since 1877. It was at it’s highest point at about 2:00 o’clock in the morning.
Saturday, May 10, 1924 – The movie shown at the Columbus Theatre in Timberville was “The Forgotten Law.”
