What a lovely fall! I can’t remember a recent year when the colors were so brilliant. I love the month of October, so this year I decided to remember the month by taking a picture every day of the month. For accountability purposes, I posted the pictures on social media every day. I’m not always good at keeping up with these kinds of challenges. I often spin myself out about midway through. But I’m proud to say that there are 31 pictures on my timeline for this month: one for every day of October.
November brings its own kind of challenge – its National Novel Writing month. This national event started in the summer of 1999 by Chris Baty. The goal is to write approximately 1700 – 2000 words a day for the entire month. If you’re able to keep up with the challenge, you’ll have the first draft of a 50,000 – 60,000 word novel. Obviously, this is a much bigger commitment than a picture a day, but I have done it before, so…we shall see! J
This December will mark 5 years since the first issue of The Chimney Rock Chronicle hit the stands. Thank you so much for your loyal support over the past half-decade. A big thank you as well to our writers. They all volunteer their time and writing talent to bring you stories each month.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I’ll check in with you again next month.
