Downtown Broadway will soon be home to a new business dedicated to health, relaxation, and community. Massage with a Message, owned and operated by licensed massage therapist Hannah Crawford, is preparing to open its doors and welcome clients seeking both relaxation and therapeutic care.
Crawford grew up right here in the Shenandoah Valley and says opening her practice in Broadway feels like coming full circle. “This is home,” she shared. “I wanted to start my business in a place where I know the people, the pace of life, and the sense of community.”
When she began looking for the right place to open her business, Crawford says she felt fortunate to find a space in downtown Broadway, right beside Turtle Style Tattoos. “It was the perfect fit — good location, welcoming atmosphere, and part of a block that already has creative, hardworking small businesses,” she said.
Her new business will offer a variety of massage services to meet different needs. These
include:
- Swedish Massage – a classic relaxation massage designed to reduce stress and tension.
- Deep Tissue Massage – focusing on sore muscles, chronic pain, and areas that need more attention.
- Prenatal Massage – supporting expectant mothers with gentle, safe techniques.
- Sports and Recovery Massage – ideal for athletes or those recovering from injury.
Crawford says her goal is to tailor each session to the individual. “No two people are alike, so no two massages should be exactly the same,” she explained. “I want people to leave feeling like their needs were truly understood.”
The shop will also feature a comfortable waiting area, giving friends or family members a place to relax if they are accompanying someone to an appointment. Looking further ahead, Crawford envisions expanding Massage with a Message to include a juice bar, offering healthy refreshments that complement her focus on wellness.
When she isn’t working with clients, Crawford enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and extended family. She’s also known for her love of animals, which she says keeps her grounded and balanced — qualities she brings into her work.
The name Massage with a Message reflects her belief that massage therapy is about more than easing sore muscles — it’s a reminder that wellness and self-care are essential parts of a healthy life.
Crawford says she’s excited to join Broadway’s growing small business community. “This town has always supported local entrepreneurs,” she said. “I’m thrilled to bring my services here and to be part of what makes Broadway such a special place.”
