Broadway, VA – July 22, 2024 –The grand opening, scheduled for early August, marks a significant milestone in the Cooperative’s ongoing commitment to serving residents and businesses with top-quality products and services.
From the very beginning, Rock Petroleum has emphasized its dedication to the Broadway community. This new location is not just about offering fuel and convenience; it’s about fostering relationships and supporting the community’s growth. “Our focus is on serving the local community rather than relying solely on transient traffic from the Interstate. We believe in buying locally and supporting our neighbors,” said Josh Stephens, General Manger.
The new service station will feature a wide range of amenities designed to meet the needs of both everyday drivers and heavy-duty customers.
The station will offer gasoline, diesel, and high-speed diesel for tractor trailers, along with non-ethanol options and off-road diesel. High-speed diesel dispensers will pump 60 gallons per minute, catering to the needs of truck drivers and other heavy-duty vehicle operators.
Convenience and Comfort are in the forefront with coffee, snacks, and high-speed Wi-Fi, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. Cleanliness is a top priority, with meticulous attention given to maintaining spotless public bathrooms.
In line with their commitment to supporting local businesses, locally made products will be available. Although Rockingham Petroleum will offer “Chester Chicken” they will be sourcing all locally grown poultry products, wine, and other items from nearby counties. The station will offer pizza by the slice and take-and-bake options, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick snack or a meal to take home, the pizza offerings will cater to diverse tastes.
Rock Petroleum’s commitment to the community extends beyond their service station. They have a history of supporting local sports teams, including the Bridgewater softball and Little League teams, as well as the Broadway Little League and the New Market Rebels baseball. Additionally, they have made significant contributions to educational initiatives, such as a $25,000 donation to the Virginia FFA Foundation, showcasing their dedication to giving back to the community.
Community BBQ Pit: A Collaborative Project
In addition to the amenities and food options, Rockingham Petroleum is proud to support the construction of a community BBQ pit, a project driven by local involvement and collaboration. Various community partners are working on this with the cooperative. The BBQ pit will serve as a communal space where civic groups can prepare chicken for fundraising efforts, an established Broadway tradition.
