Spotlight on the Off Broadway Players

Tammy Cullers by Tammy Cullers
February 1, 2022
in Entertainment

It’s a brand-new year and the Off Broadway Players are busy at work. We are excited to welcome Michael Strawderman to our board. Michael has a strong theatrical background and brings a wealth of enthusiasm to the theatre. The timing is perfect as we are moving forward with the new theatre building. The building designs are almost complete and we are hopeful to see construction/renovation start this year.
We are also looking at a play schedule for 2022. Our options for performance venues are still being considered and we are remaining fluid as COVID continues to disrupt our daily lives and keeps us all moving forward one day at a time.
The Off Broadway Players would like to hear from you. What would you like to see in 2022? Do you have a favorite play to suggest? Are you perhaps interested in acting lessons? Would you like more information on how you can help us grow and succeed? Hint: 90% of a production happens behind the scenes so we can take your talent and put it to use. If you can use a computer, paint, draw, help read lines with a cast member, use the phone, sew, use a hammer, create a fundraiser, organize clothing and/or props we would love to have you join us this year. We also have a specific need for someone who can help us with our financial bookkeeping.
Our mission is to bring entertainment and education to Broadway and the surrounding area so it is important to us that we are relevant to our community. You can reach us at info@offbroadwayplayersva.org and we look forward to your comments.
Happy 2022 and See you at the Theatre!

Tammy Cullers

Tammy Cullers

Tammy Fulk Cullers is a Jill-of-all-trades and hopes to (one day) master one. She is a middle school English teacher by day and a mystery writer by night. She also morphs into a newspaper publisher the last week of every month. You’ll find her playing the piano at Broadway Baptist Church, volunteering at the Plains District Memorial Museum, haunting the Village Library, and occasionally acting on stage with the Off Broadway Players. She loves words, cats, woodstoves, and books. Her future goals include learning to do cryptic crossword puzzles, owning a bookstore, and (eventually) becoming Jane Marple.
