We are Sam and Kim Wilkins, and we are retired full time RVers in search of 70-degree weather. Our home is now a 42-foot fifth wheel.
We sold our home and most of our belongings in order to see what this great United States has to offer by way of beautiful scenery. Along the way we have met some of the nicest people.
This summer has gone by so quickly and it is almost time for us snowbirds to fly south for the winter. We’ve experienced several frosts and some snow signaling to us we need to point our home in a southern direction. Our time here has gone so very fast, but we’ve enjoyed so many visits, reunions, events and staying in the Wild and Wonderful!
The HALT Foundation entertained over 120 attendees to the Rescued Hearts documentary showing at Regal Cinema. The Q & A after went very well, there were quite a few people interested in learning more about this very touching film teaching how horses can be a very integral part of healing.
The annual Sweet Treat Event went off without a hitch this year here at the campground. There were lots of little ones, and big ones too, who enjoyed dressing up, playing games and visiting those campers who had treats for them. There was a cornhole tournament, a sack race, a three-legged race, an egg toss and egg on a spoon race. Fun was had by all. The food was fantastic and the fellowship was even better. We all celebrated the sweetest treat of all, Jesus Christ.
I was invited to a Ladies Retreat on Gwynn’s Island down on the Chesapeake Bay with my friend, Barbara, and six other ladies. The seafood there was so very delicious. Such a wonderful time when like-minded people get together and enjoy each other’s company. We lifted each other up and prayed for one another. We had very beautiful weather and enjoyed a walk every day. What a blessing! You can’t have too many friends.
The Broadway Baptist Church’s Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing party yielded 566 Gospel Opportunities that will travel all over the world thanks to a great turn out and my DIL, Katie! Lots of hard work and many busy helping hands made it so very successful.
My great niece, Emma Grace, is almost 4 months old and has had two surgeries to keep her growing stronger and prepare her for three more next year to correct a heart defect. Her Mom and Dad are taking such good care spending time with her while in the hospital. She’s gotten to go home once and will hopefully be home for Thanksgiving. Thank you so much for lifting her up in prayer.
As we enter the holiday seasons, we should be mindful of all the blessings we have been given. Take every opportunity to love and hug on your family and friends. We all need it!
Blessings until next time,
Kim
