The Broadway-Timberville Ruritan Club held the March 10th meeting at the Broadway Emergency Squad meeting room. The meal was served by the Squad Auxiliary. President James Driver called the meeting to order and recognized guest Connie Scotellaro, Charles and Logan Hart, and guest speaker Keith Turner.
After the meal Turner, who is the feed purchasing manager for Rockingham Cooperative and founder and President of the Farm Ministry, spoke about the beginnings of the Farm Ministry and the ongoing work to provide food aid to local food pantries, and disaster relief to areas of Appalachia devastated by hurricanes and flooding. Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved, the treasurer reported a successful pork BBQ sandwich sale. In other reports the Environment Committee announced a trash pick up on March 29th. Finance reminded members of the March 15th chicken BBQ to benefit Carolyn Cook Memorial Scholarship, and the April onion sale, 10# bags will be $12. Delivery will be in May. Under new business it was announced club handbooks are available. The club voted to accept two new members: Connie Scotellaro and Ally Phillips.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned with the Pledge of Allegiance.
