As someone who has lived my entire life in the area, I understand the values, challenges, and opportunities that make Broadway unique. My family has deep roots here, and except for the time my husband, Steve, served in the Marine Corps and when I worked in Ohio, Broadway has been our home.
Professionally, I serve as Strategic Planning and Analytics Manager at Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative, where I lead cross-functional teams to carry out our strategic plan and the subsequent initiatives. Previously, I was Director of Customer Service and Production Control at Freeport Press and held leadership positions at LSC Communications and RR Donnelley. Throughout my career, I have focused on efficiency, cost savings, and data-driven decision-making.
I hold a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Business Administration, an Associate of Science in Business, and Six Sigma certification. Skills in fiscal responsibility, strategic thinking, and collaboration are ones I already apply as a current member of Broadway Town Council, the Broadway Planning Commission, and as a member of the Executive Board of Directors for Broadway Hometown Partnership. From 2018 to 2024, I also served on the Plains District and Broadway Board of Zoning Appeals.
As a member of Sunset Drive United Methodist Church, I have served as pianist and on the administrative board, including time as Finance Director. Service, whether through faith, work or most recently public office, is an important part of my life.
Looking ahead, my platform centers on fiscal responsibility and preparing Broadway for the future. We must continue to build reserves, spend resources wisely, and plan strategically by identifying our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. My guiding principle is to ensure that when my time on council concludes, Broadway will be in a stronger and better position than when I began.
If reelected, I will continue to:
• Ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently while maintaining a balanced budget.
• Ensure our employees’ salaries are fair and competitive by advocating for a market analysis.
• Support online or larger-venue council meetings to encourage resident participation.
• Foster a transparent, collaborative and respectful council that listens to concerns.
• Encourage town leadership to continue to identify potential investors who may want to invest in our town.
• Promote a business-friendly atmosphere to encourage and retain business
My approach is thoughtful, purposeful, and strategic. I believe in allowing staff to do their jobs while providing the governance, direction, and policy needed for Broadway to thrive. It would be my honor to continue serving you on Broadway Town Council for the next four years.
