Happy New Year!
January is the month of organizing, decluttering, reflecting, and resolving. Such a busy time for such short days!
I read recently that our bodies and minds were made to rest and renew during the cold, dark months of winter. When the days grow short and the light disappears in late afternoon, nature seems to give us permission to slow down. Trees are bare. Fields rest. The earth seems to be conserving its energy for longer days and summer activities just around the corner.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. We certainly enjoyed having family around and watching the excitement on our granddaughters’ faces as they unwrapped gifts. But we’ve packed away the gift wrap and boxed up the ornaments and tinsel until next year. No more sleeping in for a while. Sometimes it’s difficult to get back into the rhythm of everyday life after a long, eventful and fun-filled break, but Monday morning, my alarm will once again ring at 6:00 am.
It’s hard to believe we’re starting year 9 of the Chimney Rock Chronicle! Thank you, loyal readers, for supporting our little paper. We appreciate your notes, cards, and words of encouragement. They’re the fuel that keeps us going! When you get an opportunity, please also thank our sponsors for supporting local news and neighborhood stories. Some of our advertisers have been with us since the beginning, and some have dropped in along the way. We appreciate you ALL!
January is a great month to sit by the fire and enjoy reading the stories in the January edition of the Chronicle!
Until next month,
Tammy
